Welcome to Our New Family Blog!

On Tuesday, Reed and I will have been married for two years! That seems strange to me. We celebrated on Saturday by going to the temple for sealings, having a picnic in our living room, and going to see a Star Trek at the dollar theater. When we came home from the movie Aubrey and Jonathan Sanchez (our good friends that live a couple buildings down from us in Wymount) had come over and done our dishes, set the table and turned on some romantic music for dancing. It was wonderful! Aubrey and Jonathan watched Andy all day for us! What wonderful friends!

Andy is 8 1/2 months old now and has been getting into everything. He is crawling, standing up holding on to furniture, and on Sunday he started cruising during church! He has been trying lots of new foods and loving all of them. Some of his favorites are curry sauce and rice, mac-n-cheese, american cheese and turkey. Last week Aubrey and I went to Seven Peaks with Andy and Linnea. They had so much fun! Andy loved splashing in the water and got really mad at me for taking him out of the water! Next time daddy will have to come with us.

About two weeks ago we went to Monterey, California to visit Scott, Anna, Jason, and Nancy. We had so much fun! Jason thought we brought him a new toy. He was jumping all over the place when he saw him. Andy, of course, was terrified! By the end of the week they were friends. We went to the aquarium, the beach (a few times) and played a lot of Wii. Andy hated the beach at first. The waves were loud and scary, and the sand was something new. The next day we went to the beach again, but this time we stayed away from the waves and he loved it. He loved it so much that he tried to eat the sand, and got really mad when we told him "no, no Andy". We were sad to leave, but really glad to be home afer nearly a month of travelling.

The Lymans had a family reunion last week. We were so excited to see everyone. I'm getting better at all of the names and faces even though there are always new ones. It was so neat to see how a family can grow from generation to generation. There were nearly 80 people in the big picture we took...and there were several people missing! I'm excited to get a copy of that.

I'll post pictures of our California adventure, the reunion, and some fun ones from the rest of the summer after I get them off of Reed's computer.

  1. Your friends sound like the best babysitters ever!! How nice of them to set things up like that for you to return to! :) Hehe. It is cute and annoying how little kids seem to want to eat EVERYTHING (dirt, sand, poop, yuck!). :) The world literally is their "oyster"!
